ESCONDIDO, Calif. (December 16, 2025) – Neighborhood Healthcare, a regional Federally Qualified Health Center providing a wide range of services, today announced that it received grants totaling more than $82,000 from Albertsons Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors Program.
The funding will support Neighborhood Healthcare’s goal of reaching more individuals in Southern California who need food assistance.
“We’re grateful for the continued support of the Albertsons Foundation. For several years, Albertson’s has supported our mission to reach people who don’t have access to nutritious food to help their families thrive,” said Alex Nunez, COO for Neighborhood Healthcare. “We know that healthy communities are prosperous ones, and these initiatives ensure we can do so for more people in need.”
Nourishing Neighbors, a charitable initiative of the Albertsons Foundation, seeks to ensure at-risk children, adults, seniors, and families have access to the food they need to thrive. Through this program, more than 150 local food banks and community organizations, including Neighborhood Healthcare, are receiving Nourishing Neighbors grants to support outreach and enrollment in nutrition programs. In addition, Albertsons stores offer online access and educational resources to further support food security.
Neighborhood Healthcare recognizes that health is more than just vaccines and checkups. Under its “Better Together” mission, the organization has forged several partnerships with government agencies and other non-profit organizations, including Albertsons, to help families eliminate barriers to achieving their best life and address social determinants of health, whether financial, social, or otherwise. Doing so improves the areas that Neighborhood Healthcare proudly serves.
