Neighborhood Healthcare, a regional Federally Qualified Health Center providing a wide range of medical, dental, and behavioral health services, officially opened its Ohio Avenue dental location in a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.
The facility will serve nearly 18,000 patients in its first year alone, including more than 9,000 children and youth ages 0 to 19.
“Escondido is where we began more than 50 years ago, and we’re proud to expand our dental services in the area,” said Rakesh Patel, MD, CEO of Neighborhood Healthcare. “We believe a healthy community is a prosperous one. This new facility exemplifies our long-standing commitment to providing quality, compassionate, whole-person care for everyone, regardless of circumstance, to individuals and families in Escondido.”
The Ohio Avenue dental location will feature state-of-the-art dental equipment and staff, enhancing capabilities in Escondido. Funding for the new facility came from several sources, including a $100,000 grant from Delta Dental.
This initiative is part of Neighborhood Healthcare’s larger expansion strategy across Southern California. The non-profit’s current $10 million capital campaign will provide more families access to quality healthcare in San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.
