Neighborhood Healthcare and Interfaith Community Services Host Community Healthcare Day in Escondido

On Tuesday, August 5, Neighborhood Healthcare partnered with Interfaith Community Services to host a Community Healthcare Day for individuals experiencing homelessness at Interfaith’s Escondido location.

Held from 8 a.m. to noon, the event welcomed an estimated 200 community members, offering free health and wellness services designed to support immediate needs while promoting overall well-being.

Neighborhood Healthcare staff and volunteers worked alongside the Interfaith Community Services team to provide compassionate care and helpful resources in a welcoming environment. The goal of the event was to connect individuals with essential services and support while helping remove common barriers to healthcare.

Participants had access to a range of services, including blood pressure checks, street medicine primary care, and foot exams with nail trimming. Guests were also able to use the shower facilities, receive haircuts, and pick up clothing items and complimentary toiletries. Community resource assistance was also available to help connect individuals with ongoing support and services.

Events like Community Healthcare Day help bring care directly into the community and ensure that individuals experiencing homelessness have access to basic health services, personal care, and supportive resources.

Through partnerships like this, Neighborhood Healthcare continues its commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the communities it serves by expanding access to care and meeting people where they are.
