Mobile Dental Services.

Fully equipped school-based mobile dental services units bring preventative dental care to your schools. We are proud to partner with school districts to bring preventative dental services to school sites. We provide ongoing preventative care at regular intervals and complex treatment with referrals as needed to our
dental health centers. No cost to parents or students (Medi-Cal will be billed as available).

School-based mobile dental services (MDS)

On-going care

Designed to be a source of ongoing preventative care at the site. Not a screening or referral program.

Complex treatment

When more complex treatment is needed, the MDS program connects patients through care coordination efforts back to our dental service centers.

Partner with school districts to bring preventative dental services to school sites.

No Cost

If a participant has Medi-Cal, this information must be provided as we bill that insurance for services. Private insurance and no insurance students are seen at no cost.

MDS Goals

Reduce absenteeism

Students averaged 2.2 absentee days per school year for dental problems
Parents averaged 2.5 days of absenteeism from work or school per year due to their children’s dental problems

Reduce pain

Children with poor oral health status were almost 4 times more likely to miss school due to dental pain or infection and had a higher likelihood of poor school performance due to school absences related to dental pain compared to their counterparts.
