Neighborhood Healthcare, a regional Federally Qualified Health Center providing a wide range of services, today announced an unveiling of six murals by local artists at its North Elm Street facility on Sábado, Abril 18.
The initiative is part of a collaboration with ESCO Alley Art, The City of Escondido, and The Downtown Business Association to unveil six new Fauna and Flora-inspired artworks that capture the heart and soul of Escondido.
“We want to turn everyday public spaces into vivid storytelling experiences that celebrate the city’s unique spirit and identity,” said Suzanne Nicolaisen, Chair of the ESCO Alley Art Committee. “This project is the result of exceptional creativity and collaboration. It demonstrates that art has the power to bring people together in our community. We’re thankful for Neighborhood Healthcare’s support in this initiative.”
The six murals featured on Neighborhood Healthcare’s 460 North Elm Street building will be affixed on the structure’s wall adjacent to the Escondido Creek Trail. The artwork depicts vibrant, colorful “snippets” that look at the city in a whole new way while evoking feelings of joy and serenity.
“Collaborating with local organizations like ESCO Alley Art falls in line with our mantra of being Better Together,” said Alex Nunez, COO of Neighborhood Healthcare. “This collaboration opens opportunities for the community to enjoy the benefits of art and exercise, both contributors to happier, healthier lives. We are delighted to provide this outdoor gallery for the enjoyment of the community. Art is good for mental and physical health, providing a sense of belonging, joy, and wonder.”
The unveiling ceremony will occur at the North Elm Street facility at 3:30 p.m. on Sábado, Abril 18. Activities will include artists’ “meet-and-greet,” refreshments, children’s activities, and music. Escondido Mayor Dane White, San Diego County District 5 Representative Andrienne Cisneros-Selekman, and Dr. Paige Thiermann, Neighborhood Healthcare’s County Medical Director, are expected to speak. The public is invited to attend.
