Senior Peer Program

Senior Peer Program

The Senior Peer Program was designed as a social support to connect Latino seniors who only speak Spanish. By doing so, this program reduces the isolation of older adults within the community by creating meaningful connections with their neighbors.

Participants enjoy spending time together learning about healthcare topics that are relevant to their day to day lives such as diabetes, nutrition, dental care, depression and more. Staff provides one on one support to participants by offering information on community resources, completion of forms, and translation assistance. The program has been successful in establishing lasting relationships that continue outside of the program.

The Senior Peer Program meets every Friday at the Neighborhood Healthcare~ Ray M Dickinson Wellness Center (Date Street) clinic.
