Suicide Prevention Month: You Are Not Alone

Suicide Prevention Month: You Are Not Alone

أيلول/سبتمبر is National Suicide Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness, encourage open conversations about mental health, and remind our patients and communities that help is available.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and reaching out for support can make a meaningful difference. Whether you are experiencing a crisis yourself, are concerned about someone you care about, or simply need someone to talk to, there are local and national resources available to help.

Crisis and Support Resources

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides free, confidential support for people experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis. Call or text 988 to connect with trained crisis counselors. Additional support is available through the Spanish-language line at (888) 628-9454.

Other resources include:

  • Warm Line: (619) 295-1055 or (800) 930-9276
  • California Youth Crisis Line: (800) 843-5200
  • NAMI Peer/Family Line: (619) 543-1434
  • Youth to Youth Hotline: (866) 222-1886

Mental Health Support in San Diego County

The San Diego County Access and Crisis Line is available at (888) 724-7240. Callers can receive a safety assessment and be connected with the appropriate crisis support team or behavioral health resource.

San Diego County also offers services through the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) and Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT).

For individuals who need urgent mental health care, the Palomar Crisis Stabilization Unit provides 24/7 support for adults and children and can be reached at (760) 739-3012.

Mental Health Support in Riverside County

Riverside County residents can contact the CARES Line at (800) 499-3008 for behavioral health information and assistance.

Twenty-four-hour urgent mental health services are also available throughout Riverside County, including locations in Perris, Loma Linda, Palm Springs, Riverside, and Indio.

Help Is Available

Starting a conversation about mental health can be difficult, but no one has to navigate a crisis alone. Checking in with someone, listening without judgment, or helping them connect with professional support can make a difference.

At Neighborhood Healthcare, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate care and support for their mental well-being.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out. Help is available, and you matter.
