Poway Capital Campaign
To all our Poway supporters, we have a quick construction update about the Gold Family Health Center in Poway. We hope that construction for the Gold Family Health Center will begin January of 2017.
The delay is due to the $1 million federal grant we received this summer. The grant requires us to do a lengthy environmental review and have it approved before we can start construction. We don't expect any negative findings and have a contract with an excellent general contractor firm, PRAVA Construction Services, Inc.
We just wanted to keep you updated. We're getting there!
Thanks as always, for your support for the underserved who rely on us for care.

A Growing Need
Many people living and working within the Poway Unified School District experience poverty and an increasing number are uninsured or underinsured. Without a community health center, patients in need of care must travel to Neighborhood Healthcare’s centers. Last year, 1,200 patient visits to our Escondido centers were from Poway residents. Since many of our patients rely on public transportation, this can translate to as many as three bus transfers and up to two hours of travel time. As a result, many people delay routine healthcare, which can lead for more serious health problems.
Community Philanthropists: Alan and Debbie Gold
Concerned community and healthcare leaders have approached Neighborhood Healthcare about the possibility of opening a center in the Poway community. Now, thanks to generous gifts from local residents and community commitment to the center’s success, this vision is becoming a reality.
